18 Apr Which Social Media Networks Are Best for Marketing?
Social media marketing is still one of the best ways to reach and engage an audience today, and that doesn’t seem like it will change any time soon. Social media is a powerful tool for interacting with your target audience, and you have plenty of platforms from which to choose.
Which platforms are the best, though? Which platforms give you the most bang for your buck when it comes to social media marketing?
Visual Platforms Reign Supreme
As you can imagine, some of the best-performing platforms are those that have a heavy visual focus.
People love pictures. They love the visual element. People love pictures and love videos. So, the platforms that focus on these elements do very well. Three in particular are Tumblr, Pinterest, and Instagram. In fact, the average visitor spent more time on these platforms per month than Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+ combined.
Facebook Is Still King for B2C
Arguably, the king of B2C social media marketing is still Facebook. Changes made to how Facebook sends out posts, though, means you have to get better at posting content that makes people want to like, share, and comment.
Still, people spent more time on Facebook on average per month – over six hours – than all other major networks combined. Finding a way to engage is worth the effort.
Google+ Is King for SEO
When it comes to SEO, no network comes remotely close to being as important as Google+. In fact, while people tend to flock to Facebook or Twitter instead of Google+, Google’s network provides the best SEO benefits. (Not coincidentally, since Google owns the platform.)
It’s important to be on Google+, if only to gain SEO benefits from posting regularly.
Finding the best platform depends on what you want to do and who you want to reach. Each network has its own benefits. LinkedIn, for example, is the undisputed king for B2B marketing. Find the network that fits your purpose and make sure you are active on it.
