2 signs that it’s time to redesign your website

Your website can make a powerful first impression—and you’ll want to make sure you’re relaying the right message. For example, if your website looks old and outdated, it’s not easy to navigate, and/or it’s not optimized for mobile searches, this could send potential clients running for the hills.

You can think of your website in a similar way that you think of your storefront. If your floors are dirty, the room is covered in dust, and the furniture looks as if it hasn’t been updated since the late 1980s, it doesn’t matter how great your products (and your customer service) are.  Clients are likely to walk in, take a quick look around, and walk right back out.

If you’re concerned that your website isn’t giving off the best representation of your business- below are just a few of the signs that time for an upgrade.

Your user experience isn’t what it could be

If the color scheme on your landing page is visually loud, your content is outdated, and your website is difficult to navigate, it’s time to speak with a web design expert.  For example, several months ago one of our staff members was making plans to travel internationally, and as she started that process, she began searching for restaurants.  One of the restaurants she was interested in (which came highly recommended), had a website that hadn’t been updated since 2016.  How did she know it hadn’t been updated in more than 6 years?  Because the landing page had a list of “upcoming events” that hadn’t been refreshed since January of that year.

If your website is old, stale, and people can’t find what they’re looking for, they may think your company has gone out of business.

Your SEO is abysmal

Search engine optimization (SEO) best practices are constantly changing- which means that strategies that helped you get a page 1 ranking several years ago could potentially be harming your ranking today. It doesn’t matter if you have the best team, the best products, the best services, and the best prices—if your customers can’t find you, you could be leaving tens of thousands of dollars on the table.
