30 Jul Google+: The Key to Getting More Followers
Although Google+ has not been around as long as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, it is still a very important social media platform that will more than likely continue to be essential in the future (especially since Google designs its own search engine algorithms). In fact, most people project that Google+ will become very competitive with (and possibly surpass) LinkedIn when it comes to B2B.
As with any social media platform, the number of people in your network is directly related to your ability to influence and hopefully convert viewers into buyers of your products or services. Therefore, when it comes to Google+ what are some of the most effective strategies for increasing the number of people in your circles?
Tip #1: Join Communities
By far one of the most important ways to increase the number of people that are in your Google+ network involves joining and actively participating in relevant communities. From local networking groups to industry-specific communities, these groups can go a long way at being a platform for sharing your content (i.e. blogs) and expand your overall network.
Tip #2: Use Hashtags
Along with joining communities, it is also important that you effectively use hashtags that are related to the topic you are discussing. For example, when putting this article on Google+ (or Twitter for that matter), I would use #socialmedia and #google+ since this blog is directly related to these two items. If someone is interested in finding posts related to social media, they are able to find this post by using that hashtag – this can help increase the number of people who are interested in learning more about the topic you tag (especially if they read your post and learned something new).
Tip #3: Follow Others
Finally, one of the best ways to increase the number of people in your Google circles involves actually following others and adding them to your circle. This utilize the power of reciprocity – when you do something for someone they often are willing to do the same for you. Therefore, follow people that you are interested in having them follow you back (such as your target audience).
In short, Google+ is a powerful social media platform that will more than likely be even more important in the future. Start increasing your Google+ network today with these strategies.
