How Digital Marketing Can Help Your Company Survive COVID-19

A few weeks ago, we stumbled across a meme. It didn’t have any pictures, but the words said it all. “2020- written by Stephen King, produced by Quentin Tarantino.” It pretty much sums up this “new world” that we’re all adapting to.

Everything has changed- including how businesses need to connect with their customers.

Today more than ever, businesses, both large and small, need to rely on their digital strategy to keep their clients informed. Are you offering a one-day sale? If so, storefront signage probably isn’t going to cut it- instead, you’ll need to rely on a PPC campaign, Facebook or Instagram ads to get the word out.

The key to surviving COVID-19 is adaptability. Namely, how well can your company shift its business model so it “fits in” to this new reality.  Since no one knows how long this will last, and how long it will be before social distancing measures and stay-at-home orders begin to wind down (and even when that happens, it’s impossible to predict whether your customers will feel safe resuming their pre-pandemic lifestyle), adapting to this “new normal” will be key.

Your customers are assuredly online

In late-March, news outlets reported that Netflix usage spiked in areas that were hit hard by the coronavirus. The company went from average daily traffic of 120 million users in mid-January, to average daily traffic of 340 million users by the end of March.

(As a side note, the team at WBN Marketing is reasonably sure that, collectively, we’ve “finished” Netflix.)

Suffice to say, if you don’t have a digital strategy, now is the time to consider getting started.

Compassion in your advertising message will be key. In addition to helping ensure your brand stays in a positive light, it can help establish your buisness as a resource for consumers, your employees and other related stakeholders.
