27 Oct Mix it up! Small businesses in Naples, Estero and Bonita Springs should be using a multi channel marketing approach
I’ve been really upselling the fact that small businesses need a multi-channel marketing approach that includes digital as well as traditional marketing methods. It seems like we’ve all been riding on the social media bandwagon that we may have forgot what I believe is the cardinal rule of marketing effectiveness – mix up your strategy. We can’t depend on one thing (like social media) to be the silver bullet. We’ve got to continue integrating other channels.
I like to use direct mail with social media. I think its a great mix. If you can add more to that mix, all the better. To back it up, a recent Pitney Bowes survey found that 76% of small businesses agreed that the ideal marketing mix features a combination of digital and physical communications. The survey also found that 58% of those businesses surveyed use that multichannel marketing. The survery further revealed that direct mail and social media are both popular options with 50% using social media and 44% using direct mail.
In addition, the survey revealed that QR codes are the newest tool being utilized as well by small businesses – another tool that I believe in . Over 45% are using QR codes.
This survey is really an indication that traditional and marketing methods are co-existing to create effective campaigns.
