Businesses that advertise on YouTube have access to highly targeted ad placement. For example, you can target viewers based on their age, demographic, gender, and whether they have children. If you want to get ultra-specific (i.e. you want to target users aged 24-30, who are married, have children, and have recently moved), you can do that. You can also target more generalized groups, such as pet owners aged 20-40. It all comes down to choosing the strategy that will work best based on the product or service you’re trying to sell.

Lastly, you have numerous ad types to choose from. You can opt for display ads that appear above or to the right of featured videos, or you can opt for semi-transparent overlay ads, which appear on the bottom portion of videos in a specific category.  If you prefer, you can buy skippable (or non-skippable) video ads, which can be inserted before, during or after a main video is played.
